Art Worthy Productions, Inc.

Experienced Sculptor Stephanie Lael Barrick will create wearable sculptures which will be worn by vocal soloists during a multimedia musical presentation involving back-up choir, instrumentation, choreography, technology, and theatrical effects.  The wearable sculptures and music will be based on content from the Holy Bible and will strive to embody the message of the Scriptures.   The entire project will consist of 10-15 songs that correspond with 10-20 garments culminating in approximately two hours of performance time.

Each Music Composer will be responsible for managing the musical component of a single song within the project, including:

1.      Collaboration with Stephanie Lael Barrick, Visual Artist and Project Creator.

2.      Composition of the song including vocals, instrumentation and accompaniment, and acousmatic/digital sounds.

3.      Cooperation with the Music Producer, performers, and other team members.

4.      Creativity, which is greatly valued in this project.

5.      Optional:  Consider the position of Music Director which includes recruiting and overseeing Composers, creating the transitions between songs in the stage show, and recruiting and coordinating with Performers and Producers.

Guidelines:

·       The lyrics for all songs in this project shall be Scripture from any modern English translation.  Citations must be maintained for reference in the Bible study portion of the website.  The Bible study will be built from the same Scripture on which the songs and wearable sculptures are based.

·       The songs may be any duration.

·       Strong solo parts shall be supported by multi-part choir parts.  Traditional and/or digital instruments/sounds may be used.  The overall composition shall include creative, interesting, dynamic, and complex layering.  The level of formality desired, to reach a broad audience, is 65 – 85%.  The scale is 50% = simple pop music and 100% = sophisticated classical music.  Including elements that reach down with simplicity and up with complexity will keep the audience members in the margins engaged.

·       A variety of styles/genres shall be used throughout the greater project.  An individual composer may use their own personal style or integrate more than one style.

·       The deadline for a completed written score, including orchestration and audio files will be set in discussion.

·       Although the individual songs will be initially released in audio and video format, live performances, of the whole body of work, with a related art gallery exhibition will be the final format.

·       Individual songs may be performed for ministry as the songs are completed.

After the first song is completed, it will be released to the internet in audio and video formats, to publicize the project, begin the broader ministry of worship and making disciples, as well as soliciting funding for subsequent songs in the project.  The first video will be used to apply for grants and request donations to fund subsequent songs. Full credits will be displayed in the videos.
